Unconditional Love

By Deborah Hall-Branch

Faith, hope, love…but the greatest of these three is love, the Apostle Paul wrote in

I. Corinthians 13. I believe that the Apostle could only expound on something so

eloquent as love for the same love drew him.

Paul himself experienced what true love is. An “unconditional” love that doesn’t

present itself puffed up, suffers long, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all

things.

I met the Lord Jesus Christ as a child who was being abused in her home, but love

kept me. It suffered with me. It gave me a reassurance that all though I was going

through, Christ would never leave me, nor forsake me.

Unconditionally, God gave a sacrificial offering and because of love, Christ accepted

the call to die on the cross for our sins and that same love strengthens us daily to go

through whatever trials or tribulations that comes our way.

Although my heart should have filled with hate, love never failed. It reminded me often

that vengeance belongs to the Lord.

With the world’s system as it stands today, we as Christian parents must teach our

children about that same unconditional love. We’ve been given power (authority)

to trample on serpents and scorpions. They are those that when they don’t under-

stand our children; they immediately place a mark upon them like a garment

created in a factory; such as, A.D.D. In my prayer time, I enquired of the Lord to

reveal unto me what A.D.D. means. Being in a deliverance ministry for eleven years,

you can distinguish the difference between someone’s normal behaviors to that of

an unholy presence. I started noticing and hearing more testimonies of our children

being marked with this label. Something was wrong! Medically, I’ve heard what

it means, but what was its real name? In my prayer one day, this is what the Lord said.

A.D.D. means “Authorized Demonic Destruction!” It’s a weapon of the adversary

used to destroy that Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher before they

are birthed into their destinies. When God reveals something to us, it is to better

equip us on how to handle the situation through prayer and supplication.

Proverbs 22:6 says “train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he

will not depart from it.”

If we don’t teach them about the love of Christ and allow them to see it in our daily lives

even when we’re scorning them, they will seek it in the wrong place and believe every

idle word the devil will speak into their innocent ears. The world is full of children

that have been told “they will never amount to any thing.” “You’re just like your father

or your mother.” Some hardly ever hear the word L.O.V.E.

“Behold, children are a heritage (a gift) from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a

reward…Psalm 124:3. When we curse our children, the fruit of our womb, we’re

cursing ourselves. When I conceived my daughters I had no great understanding what

love truly meant. When you’re young, sometimes love is confused with infatuation.

I now have a greater revelation how to train up my grandsons because now I

understand “unconditional” love coupled with wisdom and knowledge.

“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child:

but when I became a man (there’s no gender), I put away childish things.

I. Corinthians 13:11

My daughters were the children of my youth and although I have the gift of prophecy

and all faith, I am nothing if I have not loved. I had to pursue “unconditional” love

and develop it in every part of my life, even those areas where I had been hurt.

If you have not already began to do it, speak love into the hearts of your child (ren)

each and every day and watch the manifestations of it. Let them know that

because of your love for them is why they must be chastised for their unrudely

behavior. When the tempter comes, love will give them authority to turn him down

and without fear of retaliation because perfect love casteth out all fear.
